Mounts finish 5th in Leagues

The Ephrata Mounts Wrestling team enjoyed a successful weekend at the recently concluded League Championships held at Conestoga Valley. Overall as a team the Mounts finished in 5th place.

Individually the Mounts had two wrestlers in the finals, but unfortunately neither came out on top and had to settle for a well deserved 2nd place finish.

Todd Dumas, wrestling at 120 pounds, met Manheim Township's Cortlandt Schuyler in the finals. Schuyler walked away with an 8-2 victory over Dumas. At 138, Ephrata's Chad Lammer met Pequea Valley's Drew Jackson, and lost a heartbreaker 3-2.

A couple of Mounts earned fourth place medals. Garden Spot's Rob King edged Mike Lammer at 145, with a 7-5 victory. And at 285 Joey Bragg from Conestoga Valley was all over Danny Matos early, scoring a fall only 16 seconds into the match.

Riley Eidemiller earned a fifth place medal as a result of his default win over Elizabethtown's Owen Bradley.

Three more Mounts finished the tournament with 8th place medals. At 106 Randy Wintersohl lost a 4-5 decision to Taylor Ball from Pequea Valley. Donegal's Terry Tirko decked Ethan Sipe in the 132 pound bracket. And at 195 Ephrata's Cameron Eisenhouer fell in the 2nd period to Hempfield's Jordan Stief.

Congratulations to all Mounts on a successful tournament.
