Lady Mounts win Consolation Game
- 02 December 2007
In the consolation game of the Daniel Boone tip-off tournament, Ephrata took on Palisades, a Double-A school from District 1 in Bucks County.
Ephrata led 11-0 after the first quarter.
Ephrata led 22-0 at the half.
“First time as a coach that one of my teams shut the other team out in the first half,” Ephrata coach Mike Garman said.
Palisades didn’t score until there was 6:59 to go in the third quarter, making it 25-2. Ephrata went on to win 49-12.
Soph guard Mel Andrew paced the Mounts with 8 points, leading a very balanced attack. Needless to say, Garman used his whole bench.
Ephrata, which fell to Schuylkill Valley 47-27 in the opener on Friday night, improved to 1-1.
