Mounts compete at League Meet


ImageThe Ephrata Mounts Boys and Girls Track team went through their final tune-up before next weekends District Meet at Shippensburg University. Both teams faired quite well in the tournament, and we'll start the recap with the Boys team. The boys finished in 9th place, with five student athletes receiving medals over the weekend.

The 4x100 relay team finished in 2nd place with a District qualifying time of 44.18, participating in that relay was Jeremy Yoder, Alex Bippus, Jordan Yarbrough and CJ Wilson.

Bippus and Wilson also picked up third place medals on the weekend, Bippus in the 300 Hurdles (40.58) and Wilson in the High Jump (6'-2").

Blake Crowther earned 4th place in the 400 with a time of 50.60.

The Girls team faired a little better as they finished in 7th place.

Three relay teams finished with medals for the Lady Mounts. The 4x400 team of Allison Hunt, Brynn Lyons, Shannon Ream, and Devon Bauder finished in 2nd place.

The 4x800 team of Lyons, Samantha Fink, Dana Haas, and Alicia Harbold finished in fourth place, while the 4x100 team finished fifth.

Individually the Lady Mounts were led by gold medal winner Lyons who finished 1st in the Javelin with a toss of 115-1. Lyons also finished 3rd in the 400 with a time of 60.17.

Katie Ream's 5'-0" leap in the high jump was good for third, while Gabby Gehr also finished third with a long jump of 16'-2.75".
