Mounts run well at Carlisle Invitational


ImageThe boys and girls cross country team competed in the Carlisle Invitational this past weekend. Both teams ran strong with very respectable finishes.

The girls team finished 9th out of 38 teams. Led by freshman Ashley Smith (20:54.75) who finished in 31st place overall. She was followed by Caitlin Davies (40th, 21:03.74), Sam Fink (57th, 21:23.59). Next was Dana Haas (107th, 22:08.23) returning for her first meet after a mid-season injury forced her to the sidelines for several meets. Also scoring for the Lady Mounts were Brynn Lyons (130th, 22:30.34), Kate Anderson (140th, 22:43.02) and Audrey Thorp (224th, 24:18.66).

On the boys side they finished 13th out of 42 teams. Led by senior Joe Kline (17:10.91) who finished in 14th place overall. He was joined by Givi Palagashvili (63rd, 18:00.58), Andrew Redcay (92nd, 18:16.40), Mickey Molchany (18:29.74), David Dukeman (132nd, 18:40.99), Brendan MacNeal (134th, 18:42.47) and Austin Wealand (155th, 19:00.18).

The Mounts (12-2 boys, 13-1 girls) are in action again tomorrow as they host a quad-meet with Cedar Crest (14-0, 12-2), Hempfield (10-4, 10-4), and Manheim Central (7-9, 8-8).
