Mounts clinch Section Title


There were some very interested bystanders Monday afternoon at Dutch Lanes for the match between Conestoga Valley and Cedar Crest.

Several members of the Ephrata High School team were there with a keen interest in the outcome. That’s because CV needed to earn five points in its match against the Falcons to clinch the Section Two title. If the Buckskins failed to do that, Ephrata, which closed out the regular season Friday, would be section champs.

Donegal holds off Ephrata


For the Donegal girls’ basketball team, it was a pretty basic blueprint.

Jump out to an early lead, withstand a rally or two and win.

The Indians followed it to perfection Tuesday night, the end result being a 56-53 win over Ephrata in a Lancaster-Lebanon League quarterfinal at Donegal.

Mounts attend National Signing Day


Wednesday was National Signing Day for high school seniors and some of our own Mounts got in on the action.

Many had long since made their decisions about where they plan to continue their educational and athletic pursuits. But Signing Day is a ceremonial moment, one that comes with more pomp and circumstance each year.

1K for Kelly


Kelly Liebl was in 4th grade when Marcy Dull scored her 1000th point at Ephrata, eight years later Liebl became only the 7th member of the elite list of 1000 point scorers in Ephrata girls basketball lore.

Her 1000th point came on a free throw in the third quarter of the Mounts victory over Solanco. You can watch it here.
