Warriors retain Male Trophy


Warwick senior quarterback Grayson Kline hooked up with wide receiver Carter Forney for three first-quarter touchdowns and Nick Fucci ran for two more in the quarter, as the Warriors rolled to a 61-0 victory [boxscore] over host Ephrata on Friday night at War Memorial Stadium.

For Warwick (2-1), the victory was its 12th straight over rival Ephrata (0-3) to retain the George Male Trophy.

Putting it all on the Line


It hasn’t been uncommon for a girl to don a helmet and shoulder pads and play football for their respective Lancaster-Lebanon League school.

It’s just that the handful of girls who have played pigskin over the years in the L-L have been kickers. Not all of them, mind you. But certainly a majority of them.

Cedars edge Mounts


LEBANON — Though there were dramatic moments late in the game, Lebanon never trailed in a 28-21 win [boxscore] over Ephrata on Friday night at Lebanon Alumni Stadium.

The Cedars (1-1) had leads of 21-0 and 28-7 in the first half before the Mounts (0-2) made a second-half push for their first win since 2012.

Buckskins top Mounts


Replacing a four-year starter at quarterback is no easy task, but Conestoga Valley Tanner Schwik was up for the task Friday night. Taking the reins of the Buckskins offense from prolific passer Grant Stoltzfus, Schwik and wide receiver Jose Barbon put on a show-connecting for three touchdowns in the season opener in Ephrata, winning on the road 49-7 [boxscore].
