Falcons rush over Mounts


Cedar Crest opened Lancaster-Lebanon League Section Two play with a 49-16 [boxscore] victory over visiting Ephrata on Friday night.

The Falcons improved to 3-1 overall, while Ephrata fell to 0-4. The Mounts now have a 35-game losing streak are still seeking their first victory since the next-to-last game of the 2012 season.

Lebanon defeats Mounts


Lebanon’s offense took control of the game and helped the visiting Cedars cruise to a 37-8 victory [boxscore] over Ephrata at War Memorial Field on Friday night.

Despite Ephrata showing a few glimmers of hope with its running game early, Lebanon would be the ones to strike first when it completed a long touchdown pass midway through the first quarter to get their offense momentum rolling.

Mounts dropped by Buckskins


The season-opening football contest between Ephrata and Conestoga Valley featured two new coaches - so to speak.

Gerad Novak returned to his former head coaching role with the Buckskins after being away for several years. Meanwhile, across the field, Kris Miller took over the helm for Ephrata. As could be expected, both were nervous before the game started.
